A total of 21 workers have died this Saturday after being trapped by the collapse of a pit of a coal mine in the province of Shaanxi, in the northwest of China, as reported by the local authorities.
The accident occurred near the town of Shenmu in around 18.00 hours, Saturday, reports the state news agency of china, Xinhua.
According to the media, at the time of the accident were under ground 87 people, of whom 21 have died while 66 have managed to be evacuated and two were missing.
After hours of searching, rescue teams have reported that they had not managed to rescue the missing, in the face of what they gave after the search has completed.
