A court in Tokyo agreed today to put in bail to the former president of Renault and Nissan Motor, Carlos Ghosn for the new charges that were alleged, reported judicial sources.
Ghosn was arrested April 4, for the second time, almost a month after she was released on bond for other previous accusations against him for financial irregularities committed allegedly during his leadership of Nissan.
According to the court sources, the tribunal set to Ghosn a bail of 500 million yen (4 million euros/4.46 million us dollars). According to local media, the Prosecutor’s office may appeal against this decision of the court.
Ghosn, with triple nationality French, brazilian and lebanese, was arrested for the first time on 19 November 2018 and he was released on bail after 108 days of provisional detention.
Following that first arrest, the Prosecutor accused of three charges, two of them by hiding supposedly the authorities part of the financial compensation agreed with Nissan, and the third by the alleged use of company funds to cover losses of personal finance.
Of new was arrested April 4 and charged this time for alleged abuse aggravated the reliance by the company on him because of the alleged diversion of funds from Nissan to cover personal expenses by means of a distributor of Oman. Ghosn and his legal defence has rejected all charges.
