The 32 theft with force they are accused of were committed in the phone shops of Albacete, Valencia, Sagunto, Alzira, Reus, Torrent, Cartagena, Tarragona, Elche, spain, Pamplona, Onteniente, Miranda de Ebro, Calatayud, Burgos, Sevilla, Teruel, Santa Pola, Gandia, Murcia, Sabiñanigo, Mollerusa (Lérida), Villareal and Elda

National Police agents have broken up an organization dedicated to commit robberies with force using the procedure of landing in phone shops all over Spain. The objective of the assault were the products exposed in the shop and exhibitors, whose final destination was Romania. Operated night and quickly, even in less than a minute, gathered the terminals and fled the place. To commit the thefts were displaced all over the national territory and, so far, is accused of 32 robberies with force in 23 cities across Spain. There are 20 detainees -11 in Spain, 4 in Romania, 3 in France, one in Italy and one in Sweden – and among which is the leader of the organization. The value of the stolen phones would reach a value of 700,000 euros, to be recovered 116 terminals taken from the inside of a suitcase owned by one of those arrested were intercepted at a courier company. During the research counted with the collaboration of the National Unit of EUROPOL and the Office Interior in Romania.

50 seconds to steal a shop

The investigation began in the year 2017 as a result of a theft, a store of Albacete by means of the method of the lunar landing, and the one who stole phones valued at 23,000 euros. The aim of the organization were mobile phone shops that raided to the wee hours of the morning, always using one or two vehicles previously stolen, and that empotraban in the door or window of the establishment in order to access the interior. In addition, they employed a sledgehammer to break the lock of the door of entry to the warehouse of the establishment and subtract also the phones stored.

The result of the investigations, agents learned that members of the organization were highly specialized in this kind of theft and moved to the various provinces to execute them. In several of the assaults, the time used to commit the offenses was very low, even fifty seconds to collect all the goods. Could also go in a single night more than 1000 kilometres to commit the acts.

Throughout the investigation, the agents identified the people who belonged to the organization and found that rotated continuously. Once a group of members of the organization ran several robberies, he left Spain and left step to new members of the organization arrived from Romania. Also, the researchers found that the organization was sending stolen phones to that country through courier companies.

20 detainees in two phases

With this information, and in a first phase of the research carried out in the past month of June, the police arrested eleven people, including four when they had to flee Spain through the Border Post of La Junquera and among those was the ringleader of the plot. Another of the detainees was arrested at the airport in Valencia when he was about to catch a flight to Romania.

In a second phase of the investigation is issued several Orders European Arrest and Surrender to the members of the organization material executors of the moon landings that had been abandoned by our country. So you managed to detain nine people in France, Italy, Sweden and Romania.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 20 people, of which 11 remain in prison, although the investigation is still open in order to fully identify other members of the organization recipients of the terminals stolen in Spain. Also the agents have managed to recover a vehicle of high range, valued at 80,000 euros and removed in Almeria, used by the organization to commit the last four robberies that occurred in Sabiñánigo (Huesca), Mollerusa (Lérida), Villareal (Castellón), and Elda (Alicante).
