The Workers’ Commission Union which represents airport baggage handlers has announced details of four strikes which they plan on taking during September.
The main action will take place at Madrid Airport starting on Friday where industrial action will take place on September 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 4:30am to 7:30am and 7:30pm to 9:30 pm.
There will also be action at Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Palma airports with the Workers’ Commission Union saying that easyJet and Vuelling passengers will be those most affected by the strikes.
Union chiefs blamed the action on a decision by handling firm Menzies Aviation Iberica to postpone a collective bargaining agreement after ongoing negotiations.
