Owners of pets who left their animals at the animal shelter which is at the centre of abuse charges in Torremolinos as reported in the Leader a few weeks ago, have now set up a new Facebook page.
‘Justice for the Animals of Parque Animal’ has been set up after the owner of Parque Animal and the manager were both arrested last month following an investigation in to the ‘slow and agonising death’ suffered by more than 2,000 animals. The police investigation also revealed that a lower dosage of the euthanasia medicine was used in order to save costs.
One of the owners affected, who no longer had enough space at home for her young dog, told Málaga Hoy newspaper that she had left her pet at the shelter in the hope that she would be found a new home. She has since discovered that her dog was put down the following day.
It is believed that owners of the pets now plan to organise a protest in Torremolinos and that an association is to be set up with the aim of placing a private accusation in the case against those responsible for the deaths of their pets.
