Ten people have died in nine traffic accidents on Spanish roads over the weekend, as reported by the Directorate General of Traffic, the DGT, in their provisional figures between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday. Amongst those who have died, five were on motorbikes and two were cyclists.
The worst day of the weekend was Saturday, when seven people were killed in six fatal accidents, which also left six injured, one seriously and five with minor injuries. Of those incidents, one of the most dramatic was on Saturday, when a 33 year old man and a 32 year old woman died after their motorcycle hit a dog on the M-512, one kilometre from the Madrid town of Robledo de Chavela, which caused them to leave the road and collided with two road signs.
Looking on the brighter side though, on Friday, there were no fatal accidents on the road network.
